Arkham Asylum is a dark and sinister facility for the criminally insane in Gotham City.
History[]
Arkham was notorious as the "home" of many of Batman's greatest foes.
On one occasion, Professor Charles Xavier was summoned by Commissioner James Gordon to Arkham in deprogramming the Joker; however, Xavier was unable to delve into the maniac's mind as the Punisher infiltrated the asylum, in which he inadvertently freed and then killing some of the prisoners.[1]
